IEEE PUA SB: mid-year courses
Seven mid-year courses to prepare students for freelancing.
With the Board of Directors we planned seven courses for students starting their graduation projects. The work covered the venue, instructors, costs and marketing, and asking Pharos University to count the courses as credit hours for summer training.

The full story
Students graduate with grades, not experience.
Without experience there is no job, and without a job there is no experience. Employers judge graduates by their work, whatever their grade.
The courses aimed to give students enough technical skill to start freelancing, just as they begin their graduation projects.
What we did
With the Board of Directors, we decided to run seven mid-year courses. The hard part was the organising: the venue, the instructors and their material, the costs, and the marketing to fill the bookings.
We also worked to win the trust of Pharos University. The aim was for it to count the courses as credit hours for summer training in the graduation year. I have no attendance figures, so I give none.
What to take from it
Behind every course there is a room, an instructor, a cost and a list of bookings. Plan them as carefully as the material.
If you are planning courses, tell me who they are for. I will tell you where to start.
