In 2020 IEEE PUA SB ran an AI workshop at Pharos University. More than 100 engineering students worked hands-on with more than 20 tools and saw new ways to study AI.

The full story
Why the workshop
In 2020, IEEE PUA SB, the IEEE student branch at Pharos University in Alexandria, ran an AI workshop for engineering students. The aim was to make AI easier to study and to show the new opportunities it opens.
What the students did
The workshop was called The Blue Brain. More than 100 students took part.
They worked hands-on with more than 20 AI tools, for uses such as content creation and data analysis. The sessions also covered new ways for engineering students to study AI.
What to take from it
A new subject sticks when people use the tools in the session, not when they only hear about them. Plan the hands-on part first, then build the talk around it.
